What we do

Every year, thousands of Swedish men receive a prostate cancer diagnosis based on a method that can be misleading. Should you have surgery, radiotherapy or wait? The decision is of vital importance, and we want it to be based on the best possible analysis. Spearpoint Analytics was founded in 2019 with a single focus: to increase precision in the diagnosis of prostate cancer. We combine AI and clinical expertise to give both doctors and patients a more reliable basis for decisions.

Our products:

  • PCAI (Prostate Cancer Aggressiveness Index): an AI-based analysis that assesses the aggressiveness of the tumour with a reproducible index of 1–100.
  • SPCD (Spearpoint Cancer Detector): an AI solution that identifies cancerous tissue in a biopsy with over 95% precision (AUROC 0.94).

Based on outcome data

Our AI models have been developed in close collaboration with Martini-Klinik in Hamburg, one of the world's leading clinics for prostate cancer treatment. An immensely large database, 17,700 patients with up to 20 years of follow-up, has trained our AI model How PCAI works.

PCAI already today outperforms experienced specialists in uropathology on all external test cohorts. And the model's potential for further development is considerable, towards approaching a complete diagnostic instrument.

Reduced human suffering – savings for society

The goal: that every man affected by prostate cancer should receive the most precise diagnosis possible, and thereby the most appropriate treatment, or, where possible, the reassuring message that radical treatment can wait, or may never need to be carried out at all Surveillance vs. surgery. That will reduce suffering and save large costs to society.
