Partners – Martini-Klinik, Uppsala University & more

PCAI has been developed by Spearpoint Analytics in collaboration with world-leading institutions in the field of prostate cancer: Martini Klinik, the university hospital in Hamburg and Akademiska sjukhuset in Uppsala.

Martini-Klinik Hamburg

Martini-Klinik at Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) is one of the world's most highly regarded clinics for prostate cancer treatment. The clinic is the training data partner and is responsible for the unique biobank of 17,700 patients with up to 20 years of follow-up that PCAI is trained on. The collaboration with Professor Markus Graefen is one of the cornerstones of PCAI's scientific legitimacy.

Akademiska sjukhuset, Uppsala

Akademiska sjukhuset in Uppsala is one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. Six urologists at the hospital have taken part in the pilot study of PCAI, and the hospital's biopsy dataset (SPROB20) is published as open research data. The Uppsala cohort is one of the independent test cohorts in the published study.

Uppsala University

The Centre for Image Analysis at Uppsala University has contributed fundamental AI research and image analysis methodology to PCAI. Professor Ewert Bengtsson and his team have taken part in the project since its early stages.

UKE Hamburg

UKE (Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf) is one of Europe's most renowned university hospitals. Professor Guido Sauter (pathology) at UKE is a key co-author of the PCAI research, and it was here that the foundation for the training data was laid.

Vinnova

Vinnova, Sweden's innovation agency, has granted Spearpoint Analytics research funding for the PCAI project. The approval is external confirmation of the project's relevance and potential.

What the collaboration has led to in practice can be seen in the clinical results and in the full research behind PCAI Research & publications. How the collaborations grew year by year can be followed in our story.
